🏁 Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Your Ugandan safari is finally starting! After a quick introduction to your guide and a few formalities, we’ll set off on an exciting journey to explore Uganda’s incredible wildlife.
Entebbe sits on the jungle-lined shores of Africa’s largest lake, Lake Victoria. It has a lush, green feel, reflecting both its colonial history and its role as Uganda’s main air gateway. Instead of tall buildings, you’ll find wide gardens, a golf course, and a beautiful botanical garden by the lake.
🌊 Day 2: Murchison Falls – Rhino tracking.
Murchison Falls National Park gets its name from a powerful 43-meter waterfall, where the Nile bursts through a crack in the Rift Valley escarpment. It’s also one of East Africa’s top safari destinations. Here, golden-maned lions roam the plains, Rothschild's giraffes stride through palm-dotted grasslands, and hippos lounge in the river while elephants and buffaloes gather to drink. The park is also home to rich birdlife, including the rare shoebill, often spotted in the delta where the Nile meets Lake Albert.
Tracking white rhinos at Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch is one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences. You’ll likely use a mix of driving and walking to find these prehistoric giants, but once spotted, viewing is done on foot. This gives you an up-close perspective of just how massive Africa’s second-largest land animal really is. As you explore the ranch, you’ll also come across plenty of antelope, monkeys, and a variety of birds.
🌅 Day 3: Murchison Falls – Early morning game drives and a boat cruise on the Nile.
Picture yourself in the gentle morning light, wrapped in a blanket, as the animals stir from their night’s rest or nighttime adventures. The world feels fresh and new on an early morning game drive, with the sun yet to heat the land—it might just become your favorite time to be on safari.
🌳 Day 4: Kibale Forest – Chimpanzee trekking in one of Africa’s best primate destinations.
Nestled on fertile volcanic soils dotted with stunning crater lakes, Kibale National Park spans 766km² of mid-altitude rainforest, stretching north from Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park is home to a rich diversity of monkeys, birds, and butterflies, but its main highlight is the 1,000-strong chimpanzee population. Their distinctive pant-hoot calls echo through the forest, making for an unforgettable wildlife experience.
🐘 Day 5: Chimpanzee habitution, Kibale National Park, evening game drive at Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Set on the Rift Valley floor with stunning views of the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains, Queen Elizabeth National Park offers a diverse safari experience. On the Kasenyi and Ishasha Plains, large herds of Uganda kob, the national antelope, remain ever watchful for the lions that prey on them. Lakes Edward and George, along with the Kazinga Channel that links them, are home to around 5,000 hippos and a rich variety of waterbirds. These waters also attract herds of elephants and buffaloes looking to quench their thirst.
For the evening part enjoy the breathtaking game Drive experience at the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
As the sun casts a golden glow and the temperatures cool, we’ll set off on an evening game drive. This is when both predators and prey are at their most active, creating a thrilling sense that anything could happen at any moment. It’s a magical time to be on safari.
🦍 Day 6: Early morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park —one of the best times to experience the park’s wildlife and landscapes. The soft, golden light is ideal for photography, and most animals are active and on the move. Even if you’re not usually an early riser, this is one morning you won’t want to miss.
Finish the day with a boat trip on Kazinga channel at the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
🦍 Day 7-8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Trek to see the rare mountain gorillas. Home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is arguably the best place on Earth to track these magnificent, gentle giants through their misty forest habitat! However, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers much more than just gorillas. The dense forest is also home to a variety of other mammals, including L’Hoest’s monkey, chimpanzees, elephants, and the yellow-backed duiker. With 350 bird species, 23 of which are unique to the Albertine Rift Valley, Bwindi is one of East Africa’s top bird-watching destinations.
🦓 Day 9: Lake Mburo National Park – evening game drive.
Protecting a unique stretch of acacia woodland, Lake Mburo National Park offers a convenient, popular, and rewarding stop on any safari. A visit here isn’t focused on the Big Five (though you’re likely to spot buffaloes, and leopards are a real possibility), but rather on enjoying the park’s stunning hilly landscapes, exploring its atmospheric wetlands, and observing high numbers of herbivores like zebra, giraffe, hippos, warthogs, impala, and bushbuck. t's when temperatures cool, the light is golden and predators set out to hunt!
An evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. As temperatures cool and the light softens, wildlife becomes more active. Not only will the light be perfect for photos, but it’s also one of the best times to spot animals in their natural behavior.
