Krustabas is a very old tradition performed in this area long before the country was made, long before Christianity was accepted as the state religion! It is a very special ritual to attract the nature power to protect the person. It is a Baptism carried out in Latvian folk traditions.
This ritual can be done for both - small children and adults.
One of the most beautiful first honours of a child's life is a crossbow. On this holiday, with the help and blessing of God, beloved Mara and Laima, the little person is given everything necessary for a beautiful, happy and rich life.
For big children and adults ritual cleanses the spirit and gives strength with the power of God and nature.

Krustabas takes place outdoors in the nature, about 2h drive from Riga. It is a beautiful countryside with experienced locals performing the process. It is a truly magical experience!
